My Reflection.

My journey is about end here at St Pius X Catholic school,

It is going to be a new chapter.  Me meeting unfamiliar people and me having a better understanding in life.  I am going to cherish the memories and the embarrassing moments in school. I had some ups and downs at school but I'll be leaving school as a mature leader.  I'll miss you St Pius BYE.

ROOTS PROJECT

ROOTS PROJECT ( ART )

Today we we were working on a project that was going to be displayed in town at the waterfront.  This project was put together by the Roots.   This art was made by bottles that would look like a wave.  After that it was going to be transformed into a greenhouse which will be built for the plants.  The bottles that was going to be displayed in total was 4500!  WOW!  We wrote wishes based on world, family, friends, community, ourselves and your Christmas wish.  The whole school was involved.  We had to put our art work into the bottles.  This artwork was going to be displayed for the last 6 weeks of summer.  I hope my wishes come true over the school holidays. Thank you Petelo, Alice and Aunty Tina.

My Writing Test

Ascott

Writing E asttle Term 4

People have a lot of expectations of what a special and unique place is. I don't. Because I think a special place should be a place where you feel free and comfortable with.  School is my special place.

Subsequently school is a place of gaining knowledge and Intelligence for a better life, future and career. School is a surrounded and crowded area with teachers and students.  School is like a home for some students and pupils.  To be able to receive love and respect from your school mates and the school community.  For some children school would a dream especially if they can't afford.  School is a place where you would emotionally feel blissful, amazing and peaceful.

School is a place to share emotional feelings and manner.  School is where you value and cherish the spectacular moments and memories.  It's a place that you interact and contribute to challenges with students.  It's a place where you achieve goals as a class and family.  School is where friendship starts in your journey life.  School is where you feel comfortable explaining you thinking and knowledge.  School builds up the real you by the way you do things in life.

School is not only a special place to me. It's a special place for you.

Expressive Writing About My Morning

My Morning

I wake up still feeling exhausted since our rugby tournament yesterday.  I drag myself off the bed and started my day lazy.  I hear the sweet birds tweet sweetly and happily from their nests.  I had a delightful and blissful breakfast which woke me up perfectly for my day. I strolled slowly and got my stationary organised for school.  My sister shouts to me to quickly come outside, so I dashed out and accelerated off to school.

Expressive Writing PI Students

Expressive Writing  P.I Students or Pacific Islanders.

I have chosen this writing because this writing  I want my people to know about this and why they should think real hard about what is happening with us compared to everyone.  Also I want them to know we need to make a change with our lives.

All I hear these days are pacific Islanders are not achievers.  Everytime I hear it I get frustrated, confused and it’s like getting slapped in the face. Some people think it’s funny to be at the bottom, but it’s really embarrassing especially for people who do care.  Is it because where different coloured people to others or are we just doing it because it is what brown people supposed to act like.  I'm trying to make a change for me and for my culture, by the way we express each other to public, families, education and communities.

Expressive Writing

I am 13 years old.I am gifted with all sorts of talent.  I am a witness of Jesus by following his footsteps and by standing up for my faith to others who go against it.  I am a challenging and a complicated boy in everything I do. I am created as a gigantic and a colossal looking boy.  Combative and cruel is not my type. I am a blissful, elated, amusing, respectful, active and a managing self boy.

Expressive Writing ( Smiles )

Smiles

Doesn't a smile light up your day. A smile is a marvelous and an outstanding emotion to me. A person without a smile will make my day dreadful and miserable.  A smile can help people a lot especially when they are struggling.

A smile can attract us human beings with a high temperature of happiness.   Smiles to me is a sign of respect, love, caring and kindness.  Smiling to people is awesome! Giving people thumbs up and appreciating peoples .

Why Did God Create Me?

Why Did God Create Me?

I was created by God to show Aroha, Tika and Pono to those who need help and the poor.

I was created by God to live with him in spirit and life.

I was created by God to show my talents and to believe in him.

I was created by God to live the way Jesus did on earth.

I was created by God to turn darkness into light.

I was created by God to let those who think wrong about themselves and to notice them that they are important.

I was created by God to make a change to the world and my people.

Chilly Milk Experiment

CHILLY MILK EXPERIMENT:

PURPOSE:   TO OBSERVE AND RECORD THE CHANGES WHEN DIFFERENT MILK IS PUT IN THE FREEZER.

WHAT YOU NEED: a selection of 3 different type of milk
clear container.

WHAT TO DO: Put  an equal volume of each type of milk in a clear container
Place each container in the freezer
Record what happens to each type of milk as it freezes.  Note its colour,
texture and shape.
Record the time it takes to each variety to freeze.

Type of milk
what it looked like once it had frozen
Time taken to freeze
Soy Milk
Whitish Creamy Runny
30mins
Condensed Milk
Yellowish - Whitish
30mins
Up & Go Milk
Chocolate - Brownish
50mins

The Result - We expected all three to freeze but we were surprised from the condensed milk from freezing.  The up & go and soy milk froze.  We questioned ourselves which one froze more.  But we knew it was up & go because the water % was higher than the soy milk.

Conclusion - We learnt the ingredients in the condensed milk.  Also we learnt why the condensed milk did not freeze.  The reason why the condensed milk did not freeze is because there was more sugar and fat than water.  If the condensed had more water it would have froze.  But the up & go and soy milk froze.

Ingredients for condensed milk

Sugar - 41.0 %
Moisture - 31.0 %
Milk Sugar - 10.5 %
Fat - 8.0 %
Proteins - 8.0 %
Ash - 1.5 %

Retreat

Retreat is a time to be calm and to show leadership in everything you do. By being calm we did prayers and reflections for others.  By showing leadership we learnt the three important virtues which is Aroha, Tika and Pono.  All the activities we all had participated in was to do with Aroha, Tika and Pono.  Retreat is to show what leadership is about also to reflect about it with God in prayer and to pray for our families and friends.  Retreat is not only about leadership it is about how we work as a team and to respect people's differences.

Mrs Pole's Farewell

Today I experienced one of the saddest moments in my school career and farewelling a teacher who is well known in St Pius X School. The teacher we farewelled was not only a teacher, she was a friend to most children who she teached.  Her name is Mrs Pole.

She has been teaching in St Pius over the last 17 years.  Mrs Pole is the most generous and the most efficient teacher you’ll ever meet.  Mrs Pole is a teacher that is always happy to help others with learning.

We showed our appreciation and love with a mass that involved her favourite hymns which were the Lord is my shepherd, Here I am Lord, Dance with the Lord.  Mrs Pole was surprised also very touched in her heart.

The students, ex students, Mr Coakley, the chairperson of the BOT and Mrs Meredith spoke on behalf of the parents. Mrs Pole then ended us off with her conclusion.  But she will leave at the end of term 2 and we will all miss her dearly and will keep her in our prayers.

MILK SCIENCE

Today we did a milk investigation about what will happen if the water can be absorbed out the milk.  My prediction came with a surprise with the result really expecting.  My prediction was that the milk was just going to be boily and also foggy.

Firstly the milk was poured out in the pot with low temperature ( Lid Closed ).  The milk started to boil, suddenly out no where milk powder started appearing onto the lid.  Next we opened it and it smelled strong milk smell.

Secondly the milk was stirred it, the milk was so bubbly that the volcano was going to erupt.  After that the temperature increased and the milk powder began to stick on the edges of the pan.

Thirdly the milk started to shrink into bits and formed into milk powder.  Finally the water was absorbed and the result ended was that water can be removed from milk.

Softball

Softball
This morning I learnt the basics skills and important skills about softball.  But before we go to the basics we sparked up a little game for a warm up.  The game we played was unknown to us and the game was called triangle tag.

Its when there is one tagger and the other three had to hold hands in a circle. The tagger has to tag a person but the person who is trying to escape from the tagger shuffle to the side and the other until the tagger tags you.

The basics I learnt were simple but still needed more work.  First I learnt the snap that you use your two hands one on the bottom and one on top. Secondly I learnt the under arm throw.  The under arm throw is how you throw it below your waist and also throw it with one hand.

Next I learnt the how to catch the ball your hands have to be together and it will look shaped like a butterfly.  Also we learnt how to throw the ball over arm, one hand had to point to the opposite persons chest and the other is behind you with the ball facing away from your head.

We learnt great skills and use it when we play softball.

Mothers Day

Mother’s Day

Have you ever met someone in your life who is so meaningful and delightful.  Who is always supportive and a gift you will never replace.  My love for her is in a place that no one knows not even the greatest investigator in the world can find.  It is in a place that I and someone special only can find it.  That special someone is my mum.

My mum is like a calculator who can answer my problems and my needs.    My mum is the most efficient and the most truthful lady you will ever meet.  All mothers are special but my mum is the most special ingredient in my life.  If I had no mum like in my life would be nothing.

When I get kisses from my mum I have a high temperature of love.  My mum is like a strategy that could solves me to make me feel alive and to be eager to do good things to others.  My mum is like hero who can protect me from evil, harm and darkness .  She is the compass of my life who keeps me on the right track and a mother who rocks my world.

Finally I thank God for the most perfect mum for me.

Interview ( Sacred Heart )

Interview

When we arrived to sacred heart my heart was pounding real fast.  I hopped off the car nervously and walked towards the old boys lounge room.  I walked in and ticked off my name.

While my mum was filling out the form I was thinking about what sort of question are they going to ask me.  A few minutes later I was directed to Brother Gerald who was going to question me.

As soon as he introduced himself he remembered my mother from the past.  Brother Gerald told me that the interview was about me.  Next he questioned me that was about learning and why I want to go sacred heart.

I answered with confidence and was proud of my self.  Brother also mention about my report saying good comments about it.  Then I walked out happy and excited hoping I get in to sacred heart.

Virtues Assembly

Virtues Assembly

It was our first virtue assembly of the year.  The virtue we were presenting was kindness.  We felt that kindness in our school is fading away so that's why we wanted to remind the school about kindness.

When Latanoa introduced our Tongan mats or what we call the kindness mat I held up my mat proudly.  My mat was colored green and black with my name on the top.

My group produced a song and a poem.  I read the poem about kindness that I wrote.  I read the poem nervously and anxiously.  After that we sang our song while Rachel played the ukulele.

One person from each class had to do a pattern just like the kindness mat.  Next I grabbed George who was about to represent room 4.  Room 4 was Kindness is forgiving someone.  Later we pinned it up.

When it was about to finish we sang Dejas group song that they produced and we went out with a happy smile with a good understanding about Kindness.

The Making Of Our Tongan ( Kindness ) Mats.

We were learning to make Tongan mats by following a procedural writing.  It has been named the kindness mat.  It was made for our virtues Assembly.  We used a A3 colored paper ( Our Choice ) that would mix with the black stripes which is 3 cm wide.  The pattern was simple you put the black stripe in and out.  It was your choice to fold it on the end or to cut the end with the scissors.  After that you glue it to the colored paper and then there you go.  Your beautiful Tongan mat.

Explanation Kindness

Explanation Kindness

Have you met someone who cares about you, who does good to others and make your life easier.  Who helps you and when you are in need.  The virtue that, that person is using to you is kindness.

Firstly you should practice kindness because people need each other and help.  Secondly you need kindness because it allows you to live in a healthy environment.  Lastly you need to use kindness everyday, to every person you know.

Kindness is the virtue you need to have and use.  You always need to have the virtue of kindness because it helps you and that persons life more easier.  If you don’t have kindness you would not care about your family, yourself and everything that exists in this world.

Kindness is an act that is important for us those who need it especially in scenarios and situations.  The reason why everyone needs to practice kindness is because it will help the environment for us to live in a better place.

Thats why kindness is important.

My Reflection

My Reflection

I learnt that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.  Also I learnt that Jesus is Father and the Father is Jesus and that Jesus is the most kindness person.  I learnt also that you should have faith in Jesus every time.

Poem Kindness

Poem Kindness

Kindness is a special virtue of mine.
It will help you and others especially for mothers.
An act of kindness is so mindless.
If you don’t have kind in you, you are blind, you are a stranger to good people eyes.
If you're not kind to yourself you are unfair people will just see you as like an old grumpy looking bear.
Kindness is good it will never let you down it won’t give you a bad day leaving school with a frown.
Thats why kind is important for me and you it will help those who need it mostly too.

Thank You.
